Arturo Sureda moved from the Cayman Islands to the UK last year.
"It's crazy," he said regarding the 46% unemployment rate of the Islands.
"How can it be that half of the population isn't working?"
He decided to find work elsewhere, and applied for a job at Brighton Pier in March.
His favorite part of working is "the fun you can make of it."
In the summer crowds were packed onto the pier and Arturo worked 12-13 hour days, with 1 day off a week.
Now in the off-season, he's only working part time, with 5 days off a week.
He'll be looking for additional work soon, he said.
